Welding
Description
The Welding program provides students with a strong introductory foundation to welding skills. Students will explore what it takes to cut and weld metal, including how to perform Shielded Metal Arc Welding (SMAW), Gas Metal Arc Welding (GMAW), Gas Tungsten Arc Arc Welding (GTAW) and Oxy-fuel Cutting (OFC). Students who successfully complete the program will be able to perform fillet and groove welds in all positions using five different electrodes, three modes of transfer, and self-shielded and gas shielded wire. Students will also learn welding and shop safety and be introduced to welding symbols, blueprints and industry mathematics. Students have the opportunity to become state certified welders.

Financial Aid and Scholarships
This program is not approved for Federal Financial Aid; scholarships may be available for those who qualify.
