Description
The Health Information Technology program allows students to experience the best of three emerging fields to include business management, information technology and health care. Students learn how to work in a variety of medical facilities and the importance of patient health information. They learn to adhere to the standards that ensure quality, integrity and protection of patient health information. Students receive specialized training and hands-on practice in subject matter that includes medical terminology, electronic health records, health insurance, patient billing, medical coding, financial operations and HIPAA compliance. Students have an opportunity to work with emerging technologies, experience hands-on applications in completing real-world projects and master the use of electronic management systems.
